Watermelon Lights

Watermelon Lights is a circuit system that lights an LED based on the frequency of your sound input. Similar to Clap-On Lights, this project is intended to provide a simple and easy way for controlling the lights in your house.

The circuit system has three key aspects: sound input, amplification, and filtering. To achieve this, we used operational amplifiers, 555 timers, an electret microphone and created a frequency filter (initially passive, then switched to active).

Watermelon Lights was a semester-long project made for Electric Circuits, and was presented at the Mercer X Corridor of Creativity and Community.
